As societies grow more dependent on digital technology, there is a need to better understand the challenges it presents and identify how our current digital infrastructure has the potential to undermine democratic governance. The Digital Threats to Democracy dialogue was hosted by the Lowy Institute in October 2022 with the aim of fostering connections between experts and to generate ideas to respond to digital challenges including disinformation, extremism, foreign interference and digital regulation.
